The Board of Trustees of The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation has selected Seth Papac to receive a $20,000 grant. The board acted on the recommendation of the 2013 Biennial Competition Jury, which selected 30 artists out of the 137 artists nominated in this years competition. The jury was composed of Phong Bui, artist and publisher of The Brooklyn Rail; Chrissie Iles, Curator, Whitney Museum of American Art; Kathryn Kanjo, Chief Curator and Head of Curatorial, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; Charles LeDray, artist; John Perreault, curator, critic, artist, poet, and founder of Artopia; Cindy Sherman, artist; and Robert Storr, artist, critic, and Dean of the Yale University School of Art.

Seth Papac is a Full Time Lecturer in the Jewelry and Metalwork Department at San Diego State University. He received his BFA in Jewelry/Metalsmithing (2004) from the University of Washington and his MFA in Jewelry/Metalsmithing (2009) from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Seth’s work is exhibited and published in Europe as well as the United States. He is the recipient of a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant, a Peter S. Reed Foundation NY, NY grant as well as the Tobey Devan Lewis Fellowship. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX, Cranbrook Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI, Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma, WA, Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, OR and the Rotasa Foundation, Mill Valley, CA.
