"Where flowers bloom, so does hope." - Lady Bird Johnson
Tim McClelland is a master jeweler who listens closely to materials. For over four decades, he has transformed precious metals and gems into works of quiet intensity—pieces that hum with history, intimacy, and the presence of the hand. McClelland brings a sculptor’s eye and a poet’s hand to every piece.
Born near Detroit in 1957, McClelland discovered metalsmithing in high school and never looked back. His formal training took him from Cranbrook and Haystack to Boston University’s Program in Artisanry, and then to the venerable jeweler Shreve, Crump & Low.
His work blends history and intimacy: Art Nouveau curves, Edwardian refinement, and the subtle rhythms of branches, petals, and tendrils. Working with gold, platinum, and ethically sourced stones—antique diamonds, glowing sapphires, and richly hued gems —he builds forms that feel not made, but grown. Each detail is intentional. Each surface tells a story.
In 1996, he co-founded McTeigue & McClelland, where for over two decades he helped define a new standard of American fine jewelry—botanical, precise, and deeply romantic. Now, through TW McClelland & Daughters, he continues that legacy with his daughters by his side, handcrafting heirloom pieces with reverence, care, and joy.
In GARDEN, McClelland’s work reminds us that jewelry can be an extension of the earth’s elegance—something to mark time, memory, and love. His pieces are not just beautiful—they are enduring tributes to what grows, what is given, and what we choose to keep close.
