A celebration of shared inspirations and constant creative dialogue, this exhibition pairs two artists, Märta Mattsson from Stockholm, Sweden, and Carina Shoshtary from the Bavarian countryside in Germany. Though separate in conceptual and visual content, both artists share a similar sense of curiosity and an abundance of imagination.
All pieces in Something Old, Something New include vintage and second-hand elements and treasures collected from flea markets, vintage shops, and friends. The pieces tell a story of transformation and evolution by seamlessly intertwining history and nostalgia with a fresh perspective. The artists are exhibited separately - this is not work they made together but rather in dialogue with each other. The work above is a photo composite of both Mattsson and Shoshtary's pieces. It exists only in their imagination.
